What is Global Competence?

Don't Ask Where I'm From, Ask Where I'm a Local - Taiye Selasi Taiye Selasi is a writer and photographer of Ghanaian and Nigerian descent, born in London and raised in Boston, who now lives in Rome and Berlin. To avoid stereotypes, she suggests we consider the three “R’s” to help us think about our locality: our Rituals (“In what city or cities in the world do shopkeepers know your face?”), our Relationships (who and where are the people who shape our days), and our Restrictions (racism, political instability, etc.).
