Global Ties ABQ has been connecting emerging leaders from around the world to the people of New Mexico for over 30 years. We annually host over 250 emerging international leaders on professional exchange programs sponsored and funded by the U.S. State Department, such as the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and the Young Leaders of America Initiative (YLAI). Our community focused program, the Global Innovator Program, offers our visiting international leaders a platform for sharing innovative solutions to global problems to their peers in Albuquerque, NM. Through these programs, we promote citizen diplomacy and foster lifelong connections that have a lasting impact.

The New Mexico Japanese American Citizens League promotes awareness of the Japanese culture in the community. The NMJACL actively works with the community to promote the brother/sisterhood of all cultures in New Mexico. |
The purpose of Santa Fe JIN is to introduce the unique culture of Japan and to provide opportunities for those who wish to participate in the cultural diversity of Santa Fe. Our activities focus on creating a platform for multicultural communication in Northern New Mexico. We aim to promote understanding of Japanese traditions and practices through hosting fun and educational programs, the most prominent being that of the Japanese Festival (Matsuri). We also encourage cultural exchanges to expand the relationship between Santa Fe and Japan for further mutual understanding. It is our pleasure to provide support and information to our members so that we can work as a cultural bridge in this global world.

Reach the World transforms the energy of travelers into a learning resource for K-12 classrooms. Our programs use the web, messaging and video conferencing to connect youth with travelers in one-on-one global, digital exchanges. The New Mexico Human Rights Projects (NMHRP) provides unique, hands-on programs that engage students intellectually and emotionally to think about the choices they make when confronted with prejudice, racism, violence and discrimination. NMHRP programs are designed to help educators challenge students to think critically about the choices they make when confronted with all forms of discrimination, assume greater responsibility for their actions, recognize and reject prejudice and violence, and to deal more sensitively with others. |
